Japan Fumes As North Korea Fires Ballistic Missiles For Second Time In A Week Japan criticised North Korea on September 18 after Pyongyang launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles eastward for the second time in under a week.Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshi Moriya said the missiles had landed outside of Japan's territory and the country's Exclusive Economic Zone. No damage to vessels or aircraft was reported, he said. The North fired several short-range ballistic missiles last Thursday (September 12), the first such launch in more than two months, which it later described as a test of a new 600-mm multiple-launch rocket system.Wednesday's missile launches also came days after the isolated country for the first time showed images of centrifuges that produce fuel for its nuclear bombs, as leader Kim Jong Un visited a uranium enrichment facility and called for more weapons-grade material to boost the arsenal.
